The voltage criteria, low and high voltage
The heart muscle mass can increase in conditions of hypertrophy and dilation, as well as can decrease when there is loss in muscle mass in conditions of ischemia or infarction. The increased heart muscle mass can be reflected on the ECG with high voltage that can be distinguished by several criteria that helps you to be able to assess left ventricle hypertrophy, right ventricle hypertrophy, or both. Also, the loss of heart muscle mass can be reflected on the ECG with low voltage that can be easily distinguished using the criteria of low voltage.
